Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in the semisweet, white, and milk chocolate chips.
  6. Slowly add the hot water to the batter and mix until smooth.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
